The project intention optimizes an existing building with a long history within the city’s urban fabric, incorporating new spaces and reorganizing the current ones to improve operational efficiency, healthcare capacity, and the environmental quality of areas intended for patients and professionals.
The architectural strategy is grounded in a vertical expansion through the addition of new floors on top of the existing structure, an operation that makes it possible to increase the hospital’s usable area without significantly altering its urban footprint or generating new land occupation. This upward extension is accompanied by a functional redistribution of the building aimed at organizing internal flows, clarifying circulation routes, and promoting closer proximity between complementary clinical services.
From a technical standpoint, the intervention includes the renewal of installations and HVAC systems with the goal of improving energy efficiency and indoor comfort conditions.
