Reggio Calabria Hospital

The new hospital was created to replace the former Ospedale Riuniti and become the current reference center of the city of Reggio Calabria in terms of diagnostic services, treatment and rehabilitation of pathologies in all the main specialties.

The layout of the new hospital consists of a single building articulated in functionally connected parts with their own formal and compositional autonomy. The various blocks, organized in a complex system of settlements, are arranged in a north-south sequence characterized by large interior courtyards.

The total area of the new hospital is approximately 70,000 square meters, including the completion of the existing “E” block, a new subway parking lot, modifications to the surrounding road network, external landscaping and service roads within the project area.
