UPC School of Agriculture - Castelldefels Campus

The new School of Agriculture at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya is located on the Castelldefels Campus, just 20 kilometers from Barcelona.

To the north are classrooms and laboratories, distributed across basement, ground floor, and three upper levels. Thus, the design ensures accessible and functional academic spaces.

In the south area, three main buildings stand out: the department with two floors, the auditorium on the ground floor, and the pilot plant in the basement.

Three walkways connect the main blocks and organize different courtyards according to their functions. In addition, a fourth walkway creates a wide pedestrian porch.

This large porch provides direct access to both the main classroom building and the auditorium, improving internal circulation across the entire complex.

The most representative spaces include the access plaza and the department courtyards, both elevated above the surrounding streets to enhance visibility and presence.

Meanwhile, the sunken pilot plant courtyard allows material deliveries from the north. As a result, logistics and daily operations are optimized.

Finally, the entire complex connects to the underground gallery network of the campus through the basement level, ensuring full integration with campus infrastructure.

Thanks to this organization, the Castelldefels Campus offers a modern, functional space designed for practical teaching and agricultural research development.
