PINEARQ

Municipal School of Music and Dance

Pinearq, together with Estudio Norniella, won first prize in the competition organized by Pozuelo de Alarcón City Council. The goal is to design the new municipal school of music and dance.

The project adapts to the existing urban layout, with nearby railway access and public transport. It also resolves the steep terrain with a large public square.

This square organizes the main access to the building and becomes a shared space for both the school and the city.

The design proposes a unique and iconic building. It integrates three main areas independently: classrooms, social spaces, and auditorium.

The volumes are shaped as three closed boxes. Between them, semi-private areas improve circulation, natural light, and visual connection with the outside.

Outdoor areas are also included, reinforcing the relationship between the building and its urban and natural surroundings.

Ceramic is used as the main material, providing sustainability. It promotes circular economy, encourages resource reuse, and improves construction efficiency.

In addition, prefabricated systems allow elements to be recovered and recycled later, reducing environmental impact.

The design follows the KM0 philosophy. Local materials are used, supporting the local economy and encouraging sustainable habits respectful of traditions.

This innovative project combines sustainability, functionality, and contemporary architecture. The new municipal school of music in Pozuelo de Alarcón becomes an educational and cultural landmark for the city.
