The building of the Municipal Medical Research Institute is extended and becomes the new Mar Universitary Campus to provide for more than 1,000 students from the Pompeu Fabra University, the Autonomous University of Barcelona and the Hospital del Mar Nursing School.
There is a notable inclusion of large size die-cut aluminium sheet as new cladding on façades, to improve climatic conditions in the interior. To the south, this system is converted into lattices which shade the existing windows.
The project includes classrooms of different sizes, study rooms and spaces equipped for giving classes in health sciences. These are supplemented by services such as library, rest rooms, dining rooms and changing rooms.
