Facultative Management Contract for the Implementation of modular spaces in Fuenlabrada Campus of the URJC
UTE formed by PINEARQ and Estudio Norniella has been appointed Project Management Service (Site Management, Construction Management and Health and Safety Coordination in the execution phase) of works for the implementation of modular spaces in Fuenlabrada Campus of the Rey Juan Carlos University.
The project, carried out by the same design team (PINEARQ-Estudio Norniella), consists of the implementation of a 3,000 m² modular building that will occupy plot 13 of the Fuenlabrada Campus, and whose work-period execution will be 6 months.
The building will have a mixed program layout of classroom and departmental use for teaching staff, with classrooms and open areas for students, offices, seminars, meeting rooms and a co-working space.
The industrialization of the architecture is intended to meet the main goal of improving the quality of the building while optimizing construction time. Modularity is the fundamental principle of the project, since it is based on a prefabricated and modular structural system, which would support the overloads of a fully functional future extra floor if the University needs it. In turn, the facades are structured following a repetitive module that generates the rhythmic variations on its supra-structure to adapt to the typological needs of each facade, and OFF-SITE manufacturing of the entire exterior enclosure is established as a priority to facilitate the execution and assembly on site, allowing the incorporation of new circular economy and recycling processes in the project.
