Josep Lluís Blázquez interviewed Albert de Pineda, Ada Demetriu and Jean Craiu about the international competition we won for the design of the Transplant Centre in Cluj-Napoca (Romania). In the twelve minutes’ conversation, Pinearq architects appreciated the transparency of the tender (from the open call to the verdict of the jury), explained the form and development of the new building (in the historic city centre and an area of difficult topography), and expressed their enthusiasm with a project that will be fundamental for that European region.

Pinearq, together with the Romanian studio Dico si Tiganas, won the first prize in an international and open competition that registered one of the highest entries in recent years in the country. The project deploys in an intervention area of 47,000 square meters that includes the hospital building, the outdoor spaces and the urbanization of the immediate surroundings.
