LOCAL AUTHORITIES PRESENT THE EXTENSION OF HOSPITAL DEL MAR
On June 14, Albert de Pineda presented the second phase of the project to expand the Hospital del Mar de Barcelona in a ceremony chaired by the Regional Minister of Health, Josep Maria Argimon, the mayor of Barcelona, Ada Colau, the president of the Governing Council of the Parc de Salut Mar, Joan Puigdollers, and the manager of the PSMAR, Olga Pané.
The Hospital de Mar starts its transformation with its sights set on the year 2030, with a project that has been developed from a co-creation process between patients, hospital professionals and architects. It is a new environmentally sustainable building that will have a surface area of 22,500 sqm and 75 hospital beds, which will allow the hospital to be relaunched with the use of new technologies and the digitization of its day-to-day activities.
The project has been designed taking into account the needs detected during the management of the COVID-19 pandemic, so Pinearq and Brullet de Luna worked incorporating criteria of flexibility, the adaptation of spaces, and the separation of circuits.
