Merging BIM and functional programs of hospital buildings
Pinearq has developed a process for BIM to read the functional program of hospital projects, creating all necessary rooms in the model through a Dynamo routine. We can keep adding data to the original batch as the project develops. It is also possible to extract data, add and modify with other tools and insert it back in the model.
This process includes data analysis tools to show the information contained in the model in an intuitive way, through dynamic dashboards that react to the users’ queries about the state of the model at any stage of the projects.These visual tools can filter the information in multiple ways and generate visual alerts when set values do not comply to the norm or initial requirements. By linking BIM models to data analysis tools, project managers and clients can monitor project evolution and compliance at any stage.
Funded by the Ministry of Health of Chile, this project was designed by Pinearq and bbats architects using the fore mentioned data automation process. The functional plan was introduced in the model before the first distribution attempts. Through a calculation parameter, we were able to check the surface variations of each room, allowing us to automate the verification of specs compliance and to fully optimize the over 70,000 sqm of hospital surface. Dynamic data analysis was used to monitor area per bed ratio and percentage of each department in relation to general area, among other variables.
The graphs can be associated with floor plans of axonometric views, for example, to quickly locate the entire plant, a departmental group or even a single room.
